Marshall Semyon Timoshenko



DescriptionA portrait of Marshall Semyon Timoshenko. He held the highest military rank in the Soviet Union, aside from Stalin. On 7 May 1940, he was appointed as People's Commissar of Defence. Having previously held high command in the early years of war, he was eventually dismissed for incompetence.
